The holiday season is in full swing! That means parties, and shopping, and (of course) great food! At 214 Eats we want to be sure you know the best places to get the best grub in town!

This Wednesday, December 14, from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM is an event you really cannot miss. The SMOKE & Suds Beer Dinner at SMOKE Plano is sure to be a festive delight!

SMOKE’s very own, Chef Tim Byres, will be whipping up a custom menu featuring Lakewood Brewing Company’s barrel-aged releases.

Lakewood Brewing Company was founded by Wim Bens. Bens was born in Belgium, but moved to Texas when he was 7 years old. After graduating college, Bens went on a hunt for Belgium tastes and discovered home-brewing. In 2012, they sold their first keg of beer, and now have year-round beers in 6 and 4-packs.

Chef Tim Byres is not only the chef at SMOKE, but the owner as well. One of Chef Byres influences was the founding father of Modern Texas Cuisine, Stephen Pyles. While working with Pyles, Chef Byres took an interest in cooking with fire. He made the commitment to open SMOKE, then traveled for three months researching how to authentically cook over wood.

Needless to say, this dinner is going to be amazing.

The dinner will start with scrumptious Gruyere and Emmenthaler Croquettes with Fried Parsley and Lemon paired with Lakewood’s Hop Trapp Belgian-style IPA.

Next, Chef Byres will serve German Family-Style Sausage Madness Platters and Wild Boar Schnitzel with Homemade Specialty Mustards, Krauts, Pickled Vegetables, Cabbage, and Breads. This will be paired with Lakewood’s All Call Kolsch and Thread Spinner Bourbon barrel-aged American Barleywine.

For the salad course, Bitter Greens with a Chili and Dried Cherry “Thread Spinner Vinaigrette.”

For dessert, Stilton Cheesecake with a Walnut Crust and Temptress Drizzle paired with Lakewood’s delicious 2016 Bourbon Barrel Temptress Imperial Milk Stout.

Tickets are $80.00, but it’s definitely worth it. This one of kind dinner is sure to add some sparkle to your holiday season.
